When should I meet with Little Flower Paper Company to start invitation design?
For custom stationery suite design, you should schedule your initial meeting with us around 6 to 8 months prior to your wedding date. If you're also looking for save the dates, you should contact us around 10 months prior to the wedding date. For day of accessories including programs, place cards, table numbers, menus, seating charts, etc, 2 months prior to the date is recommended.
How much should I budget for wedding stationery?
Generally, around 5% of your total wedding budget should be reserved for invitations and other paper goodies like programs, place cards, thank you cards, etc.
How many wedding invitations do I need to order?
Remember, you're only sending one invitation to every couple or household. To get a quick estimate, divide your total guest count in half and add 10%-20% as extra in case of last minute guests, mailing errors, and keepsakes. For example: If you're planning on inviting 200 guests, you would order 110-120 invitations.
When should I send save the dates and what should be included?
Save the dates should be mailed 6 to 8 months prior to your wedding date. At a minimum, they should included your names, wedding date and wedding location (City & State). You may also wish to include your wedding website or accommodation information. If you're hosting additional wedding related events (such as a welcome party or morning after brunch) you can use the wording "Wedding Weekend" and include the date range of your events.
When should I send wedding invitations?
In general, invitations should go out 6 to 8 weeks prior to your wedding date. If you're having a destination wedding or have many guests traveling from distant locations, you may want to send invitations 10 weeks prior to your date.
How long does it take to get my invitations?
Little Flower Paper Company delivers invitations based on your wedding date. Typically, your invitations will be delivered to you 10 weeks prior to your wedding date. Your delivery date will be indicated in the timeline provided to you. For party stationery and holiday cards, your goodies will be delivered to you within 2 weeks of your order.
Can I assemble my own invitations?
While we totally understand many brides want to DIY aspects of their weddings, the assembly is best left to Little Flower Paper Company. You will have a ton of other details to worry about in the weeks before your wedding. Let us put our incredible attention to detail and obsession for perfection to good use and deliver your invitations fully assembled .
Can I get a real sample of my invitation design?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide actual samples of your invitation or other stationery prior to the delivery of your order. We would be happy to provide samples of previous work, as well as swatches of all paper and envelopes used. You will also receive electronic copies of your design and final proofs via emailed .pdf files.
How much postage do wedding invitations require?
You will need to have your invitation or save the date weighed at the post office before purchasing your stamps. Any invitation weighing over one ounce (which is almost all of them!) and square shaped envelopes will require at least $0.71 postage. Also, be sure to alert the postal staff if your invitation contains an embellishment such as a ribbon tie or wax seal. These invitations will need to be hand cancelled.
Where do I include my registry information?
Generally, wedding registry information is only included on your wedding website or a bridal shower invitation. It is considered poor etiquette to include this information on your save the date or wedding invitation. We recommend including your wedding website (which will direct guests to your registry) on your save the date and one of your enclosure cards in your invitation suite.
How do I word my wedding invitation?
While this is usually the most complicated aspect of invitation design, don't worry! Little Flower Paper Company will provide you with a range of wording examples, from formal & traditional to fun & funky and help you pick the best option for your unique situation. When we get to this step in the design process, you will be emailed a "Wording Guide" to get you started.
What is your return policy?
Because all of our products are custom made, all sales are final. No order will go to print without your final approval of your .pdf proof via email.
Are you able to rush orders?
Yes! Rush orders are available for an additional fee of $200. Rush services are considered as anything after 12 weeks prior to your wedding date for custom stationery suite design.
